Little Ninjas
Little Ninjas is our first introduction to CrossFit for children in Kindergarten through Grade 1. This primary-focused class allows children to begin developing their gross motor skills in an active, engaging and playful setting.
The three main pillars of our Little Ninjas program are as follows:
1. Focus on Fun – We want to establish and support a positive association between being fit and having fun. Each day of class is oriented around a theme, such as “Outer Space”, “Animals”, and “Toys”.
2. Quality of Movement – We spend dedicated time every class on skill development and learning correct motor recruitment patterns. We then put our learning to the test in exciting and engaging ways. Learning the correct ways to move will help with injury prevention in other physical activities as well as skill transfer to a variety of sports.
3. CrossFit Prescription – Just as in all of our programs, we strive to appropriately apply the CrossFit pedagogy to this beginning, young group of athletes. Little Ninjas class content is constantly varied, focused on functional movements, and provides opportunities to explore higher intensity levels of exercise.

The three main pillars of our Fire Breathers program are as follows:
1. Focus on Fun – We want to establish and support a positive association between being fit and having fun. Although the work will definitely be tiring, and you might get a little sweaty, you will surely be smiling and having fun! There is a focus on individual, partner, and team workouts, increasing the social component of fitness activities.
2. Quality of Movement – This emphasizes the technical side of our focus. We spend time every class on specific skill development and build strength through the constant repetition of movements. As more complex movements are taught in this class, there is an increased focus on safety and an expectation to consistently perform correct movement mechanics.
3. CrossFit Prescription – Just as in all of our programs, we strive to appropriately apply the CrossFit pedagogy to this developing, young group of athletes. Throughout the course of this program, strength will be gained through increasing the individual’s neuromuscular capacity and load will only be increased once the athlete can consistently demonstrate proper mechanics. Depending on the skill level of the athlete, the movement being taught, and the intention behind the workout, athletes will be unloaded, slightly loaded or given an opportunity to try a more challenging load. This will all be at the discretion of the Trainer, not the athlete.
